UN Special magazine chaos continues ….

Staff Alliance does NOT support the idea to terminate the UNOG SCC–WHO Staff Association partnership … because it was not a decision of the 25-member Staff Coordinating Council (SCC).
Staff Alliance’s position is justified because;
UNOG SCC–WHO Partnership was terminated – by select individuals – WTHOUT approval from the 25–member UNOG SCC.
The 25-member Staff Council was NEVER presented with any substantive documentation or proposal that clearly justifies (e.g. benefits) the termination of the partnership.
UNOG Staff Council did NOT vote, let alone, ‘vote unanimously’ to terminate the partnership.
UNOG Staff Council is brought into disrepute as it violated the ‘UN Special Statute’ it had signed with WHO Staff Association on 25 October 2013.
UNOG SCC did NOT pass any resolution to publish a ‘new’ magazine titled “UN Today.”

Staff Alliance will NOT be associated with the ‘death’ of the UN Special magazine, which has been in existence for the past 70 years, from 1949 – 2019! Individuals must take responsibility for ‘bulldozing’ this ill-conceived, unjustified and multilateralism-killer idea through the Staff Council … using the Council as a ‘rubber stamp’, based on numerical superiority.
Staff Council credibility is dragged into the gutters … and the ‘damage control’ legal remedies are draining its scarce financial resources on unwarranted legal fees.
Staff Alliance posits the following to STOP this ‘costly, unnecessary’ charade …
Staff Council is part of the UN family. WHO Staff Association is our family. As family, we support and sustain each other, not tear each other apart. As family, we do not fight each other, we resolve family feuds amicably.
We call for restraint and truce between the warring partners. We appeal for ALL legal proceedings to be shelved forthwith.
We call for a round-table open (or closed) forum or meeting between the UNOG SCC and WHO Staff Association to resolve this matter amicably, forthwith.
