Staff Coordinating Council "garden party" takes place with.... "no staff"?!

Once again, the Staff Coordinating Council has organized a "garden" party for UNOG staff which was very poorly attended. Maybe the culprit was 34C heat or the high Eldora food prices, but many UNOG staff chose NOT to come. The highlight of the day was a farewell party for UNCTAD's Fiorina Mugione (Chief, Entrepreneurship Section, DIAE) who was retiring after 30 years of service with the UN and moving on to a job with a private consulting company. Fiorina's colleagues have brought delicious snacks including fried chicken and ham quiche and cool beverages (including champagne and wine), which prompted crowds to form, and eventually the signer had to come over to sing "happy birthday".
