Today, 27 September 2017, at the UNOG Staff Coordinating Council organized town hall meeting on the 7.5% PAYCUT that took place at 1:15 p.m. in room 19 of Palais des Nations, the speakers representing staff from different UN agencies in Geneva (ILO, WAIPO, OHCR) failed to provide specific actions on how they will fight the looming PAYCUT! Although many present in the room asked questions on how SPECIFICALLY, staff representatives plan to challenge and ultimately overturn the forthcoming February 2018 PAYCUT, there we no specific details given. In addition to distributing a note with information on how the PAYCUT will be implemented (as informed by UNOG administration in July 2017), Staff Alliance also proposed to use some of the CHF 2.4 million funds that are in the UNOG Coordinating Council coffers to mount an effective marketing campaign against the PAYCUT, including by purchasing ads on Geneva public buses.
